10 Things You Did Not Know About Naomi Hitmaker Ban-T

He got the nation by storm last year when he released a song titled Naomi and it instantly became everyone’s favourite. Ban-T has since released the likes of ‘The boy’ and ‘Lala vuka’ which also received the same love as Naomi.

He has also worked with the likes of Faded Gang and Sheila on some hit songs.

Below are a few things you did not know about this future of local  hip hop.

1. He is only 19 years old.
2. The name Ban-T is taken from his first name, Baanthata. His full names are Baanthata Mokgwathi.
3. He is a huge fan of Lil Wayne and has at one point called himself ‘Ban Tweezy’
4. Last year at 18, he was alledged to be in a relationship with 24 year hip hop Queen Sasa Klaas.
5. Ban-T is currently pursuing a Music Production and Sound Engineering course at the Academy of Sound Engineering in Johannesburg.
6. On his Naomi remix, he worked with Tshego and Gemini Major who are from one of the largest music labels in Southern Africa, Family Tree.
7. He was nominated seven times at his first ever award nominations.
8. He walked away with three awards out of the seven he was nominated for at the annual Yarona FM Music Awards(YAMAS).
9. He also draws inspiration from SA rapper AKA.
10. He does not believe in beefs that other hip hop heads respect so much.
