5 Simple Ways To Get Rid Of Whiteheads

There isn’t anything more annoying than those white spots on your cheeks, nose and chin. Whiteheads are considered to be as a milder form of acne. They appear like white bumps that spring out from your face. They are much like blackheads in the sense that whiteheads are caused by the build-up of bacteria, dead skin and oil in the pores.

Below are some simple natural methods you can use to get rid of those stubborn whiteheads.

1.     Apply Little Heat to Get Rid of Whiteheads

The application of little heat to your face is a great way of removing whiteheads on your chin and nose. You can apply heat in the form of hot compress or steam. The idea is that the heat will open up the pores, allowing the bacteria, dead skin and sebum to escape. After you have opened the pores with hot compress or steam, wash your face with a mild facial cleanser and close the pores again with cold-water face washing.

2.     Use Lemon Juice

Natural lemon juice contains citric acid that helps remove whiteheads by opening the pores and drying out the excess oil. To use lemon juice, slice a fresh lemon, collect the juice and mix it with water in a 50/50 solution. Grab a cotton ball and dip in the lemon juice solution and simply apply the damp cotton ball directly to the affected area. It’s important that you do not overdo this treatment as it dries the skin and cause irritation. Apply once a day.

3.     Try Apply Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar works similar to lemon juice. It has a drying effect that is effective at removing excess oils. Also, apple cider vinegar has been used as an anti-septic and anti-bacterial agent for centuries. To use apple cider vinegar, you simply need to dip cotton balls into a bottle of apple cider vinegar, and proceed with applying the cotton balls directly to the affected area. Be cautious as apple cider is acidic and may cause burning and irritation. It’s best that you only apply it to whiteheads and avoid unaffected skin.

4.     Make yourself An Anti-whitehead Scrub

You can make yourself a scrub for removing whiteheads and other blemishes as it opens up the pores, allows the skin to “breathe” and removes dead cells. The best ingredients for an anti-whitehead scrub are turmeric, lemon and honey.

Mix one teaspoon of rice flour, turmeric powder, honey and lemon juice. Do not add water and you can use more lemon juice instead.
Apply your anti-whitehead scrub like any other scrub. Limit your application to twice a week.

5.     Toothpaste

The fluoride in the toothpaste can help cure both acne and whiteheads. Simply apply a gel- based paste to the affected area of the face, let it stay for a few minutes, and then wash it off with cold water.
