BEPA Calls On To Other Promoters To Boycott MC Maswe For The Next 2 Years, What’s Your View?
The Botswana Entertainment Promoters Association has through their PRO Gilbert Seagile aka PP wa Pimp has Β responded to what transpired at the Toropo Ya Muka music festival over the weekend.
PPΒ Β has condemned veteran artist Β MC Maswe for his behavior and amongst other things called on to other promoters to boycott him for the next two years and called on Botswana Music Union to suspend him from the union.

PRESS STATEMENT ON # MC MASWE ‘S ATTACK ON LEUNGO PITSE VIDEO CIRCULATING ON SOCIAL MEDIA
Botswana Entertainment Promoters Association is aware of a distasteful video that is circulating on social media regarding artist MC Maswe attacking LEUNGO at Toropo Ya Muka Festival held in Francistown on Saturday 27th MAY 2017. In particular, BEPA would like to make reference to the following:
1. We strongly condemn such a barbaric uncalled for behaviour which MC Maswe bitterly displayed on LEUNGO PITSE.
2. BEPA condemns the discriminatory tribalist remarks Mc Maswe made on all Gaborone based artists referring to them as ‘Gabz People’. We do not want such remarks to affect our member Colastraw Da icon Bonno Ngaka’s event Toropo ya Muka. This event is an event for everyone in the arts industry both entertainers and the audience. It’s main purpose is to revive entertainment in Francistown a great initiative for economic diversification.
3. We appeal to other promoters/Organisers to punish MC Maswe by not booking him for a period of 2 years as demonstration that we indeed do not condone abuse and promotion of tribalism in the entertainment industry.
4.We also urge our sister Organisation Botswana Musician’s Union to suspend him from Francistown Chapter where he serves as Chairperson with a immediate effect.
BEPA would like to sincerely apologise to all the industry supporters, sponsors, family and friends for the distasteful video that was shot at Toropo Ya Muka
