Berry Heart’s Pyaar Gets Over 100k Views On YouTube

She announced the release of her song featuring Indian artist Ekam Maanuke in June ,poet and singer Berry Heart has since travelled to India to shoot the video of the song.

Today the video of the song Pryaar, that was uploaded on YouTube in June has 103 000 views. The song in sung in Punjabi, native language of Ekam and Berry Heart sing in her language, sekgalagadi.

Berry Heart spent almost two weeks in India where they worked on and launched the project which made international headlines. She said that the project will be launched in Botswana on 29th September, 2017. Pyaar is the first Indo- African collaboration recorded by Spin music. “There are a lot of differences between Indian music and local music especially in terms of pitch and tempo. We are basically at a music scale of 6/8 and India has a variety of ranges,” she said.
She however said the similarities can be drawn in the drums which they call the Tabla, a South Asian membranophone percussion instrument which is more like The African Bongo or Meropa in our vernacular language.

The last time a local song reached this many views on Youtube was with rapper Frost’s Pula which still has the highest number of views standing at almost 500k views.
