BOPEU To Bring Back Their Cultural Nights This August

Botswana Public Employees Union will this year host their cultural night on the 5th of August after failing to host the annual event last year.

The annual BOPEU cultural nights started in 2014 and was successful the first two years and are aimed at giving back to the community.

“This year, we would like to continue to give back to the less privileged people in our community,” she said. However, she pointed out that they have not yet established which charity organisation they will sponsor this year. She said the organisation that will be selected to get the sponsorship will be selected based on an intense assessment,”said BOPEU second deputy president for Gender and Youth Affairs, Ogaufi Masame.

This year, the cultural event will be held under a theme, ‘Seboka re bata sa mokwatla sa mpa re a mpampetsa’. The event will be held at the Tlotlo Hotel and Conference Centre. The event will be filled with a number of various traditional poetry, dance, choirs, various native languages and traditional foods.

The event is filled with rich entertainment from some of Setswana artists such as Sereetsi and the Natives, Dr Vom, Rangers Choir, Culture Spears, Solly Sebotso, Ditiro Leero, Dipela tsa ga Kobokwe, Moroka Moreri and others.
