Majwe Mining Joint Venture (Pty) Ltd. has been engaged as a Contractor for the Cut 8 Contract Mining by Debswana at the Jwaneng Mine. The project is to move waste material to expand the current mine and it is an important contribution to the economy of Botswana.The mine requires the services of knowledgeable, highly skilled and self-driven individualsβ for theΒ position of Communications & Community Relations Officer
Job Summary
Reporting to the Communications & Community Relations Manager, the successful incumbent will assist in development of internal and external communication plans and strive for positive public images for the organization. The incumbent will also assist in planning activities and events related to Community Relations (Social Performance Management Plan) and perform any other duties as directed by the Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
Implement internal communication strategy among staff
Ensure flow of relevant information between the management and staff
Participate in team building activities
Promote the image of the company in a view to uphold its reputation
Assist in the maintenance of cordial relations with key stakeholders as well as the public at large in line with Majwe Social Performance Plan.
Implement media management program which will result in fair and balanced coverage of the company
Assist in developing and implementation of annual media relations plan
Disseminate information on the companyβs programs, projects, policies and activities
Production and distribution of internal publication of the company
Identify and implement charitable projects in line with Majwe Corporate Social Responsibility Policy.
Plan activities and events that contribute positively to the lives of the disadvantaged members of society
Implementation of the brand manual plan for the company to enhance its presence and visibility
Maintains external affairs data integrity and keeping manual and system records up to date.
Compliance to Safety, Health and Environmental standards
Requirements
Diploma/Degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing or related disciplines
2 years relevant experience in a dynamic environment. Experience in a mining environment will be an added advantage
Good communications and presentations skills
Proven negotiation/Influence skills
Good administrative skills
Class B driving license
