Know your celeb- Gugu Mavuma

Remember that cute chubby faced man with a beautiful smile who always decorated our national television on Sundays? His name is Gugu Mavuma and in today’s edition we give you fast fact into knowing what he might doing for a living.

• He is a 35 years old married to a beautiful wife called Sadie.
• He is currently the chairman of Youth Matters Botswana and also run my own talent agency business (AJ Promotions).
• Gugu has over the years had the privilege to work with Gabz FM, BTV(as one of the first faces on the station as a continuity presenter), Mascom, as a manager of Lizard Lounge(one of the coolest hangouts in Gabs at the time) among others.
• He was born to two wonderful parents who have since passed on, my Dad passed on in 2001 while my Mum passed on just last year in February.
• Gugu sat for his studies at Thornhill Primary and Maikano CJSS and Gaborone Secondary School.
• He has lived a reckless life of a party animal thinking it’s ‘the good life’. One day my mum [who had always been praying for me and hoping for a turnaround for me] eventually convinced me to go with her to a church called New Season Ministries.
• His company Youth Matters they have come up with an initiative called Big Brother/Big Sister mentorship programmes in schools, most kids face some challenges at home that make them turn to violence and drugs.
