Local TV Channel Maru, Debuts On DSTV
New local television station Maru TV , debuted today, (Tuesday the 6th of March) on DSTV making it one of the first Botswana stations to secure a slot on the pay TV network.
Maru TV Managing Director Ali Mwimbi has told the media that the content aired on the platform will be 60 percent Botswana-focused, comprising of dramas and short films among others.
Mwimbi said this was part of efforts to help grow Botswana’s infant film and TV industry. The station is on Channel 291 and people have been watching and seem pleased with the content.
