Withholding Of Wage Subsidy An Offence Says Vice President Mr Tsogwane

Vice President Slumber Tsogwane says action will be taken against companies which received wage subsidies from government and failed to pass it to employees as expected.

Speaking during a covid-19 response team meeting in Francistown on Friday, Vice President Tsogwane said wage subsidy was one of government’s interventions which was put in place to assist companies that experienced cash flow challenges during the extreme social distancing period.

He said government is equally disturbed by reports of abuse of the food relief programme.

Vice President Tsogwane said government will continue to work on the economic recovery post Covid-19.

He thanked the Francistown Covid-19 response team for being united during the extreme social distancing period adding that staying united would be crucial in the fight against covid-19.

Tsogwane who was accompanied by Member of Parliament for Francistown South Wynter Mmolotsi , Member of Parliament for Francistown East Buti Billy Minister of Youth Empowerment Sport and Culture Development Tumiso Rakgare, Minister of Mineral Resources Green Technology and Energy Security Lefoko Moagi, Assistant Minister of Local Government and Rural Development Kgotla Autlwetse and Assistant Minister of Investment Trade and Industry Karabo Gare also toured Francistown schools to appreciation schools readiness and compliance to Covid-19 protocols.
