Rollers stumble

Township Rollers yesterday drifted further away from writing more history. In a contest against Africa’s popular side Al-Aghly Popa Popa succumbed to a three-nil defeat. The team is contesting the CAF Clubs champions league. Township could not keep up with the fast paced Al Aghly in the match and they finished the first half trailing by a goal to nil. The boys from Gaborone West as is commonly referred to then faced a prick when the Egyptian side was awarded a penalty within the 60th minute of the match.

Lemponye Tshireletso tried to avoid the third whip from the African-Arabic club when he tried to defend a goal that was called in. Tshireletso then injured himself from the save. Township Rollers has only won against FC Kampala of Uganda while they lost to Tunisia’s Esperance. The team has been a force to reckon with in the country’s football rounds after winning both the premier league and the only cup tournament in Botswana, the Mascom Top 8.
