Seabelo Modibe To Bring In Anthony A. Cole As Headliner Of The Botswana International Music Conference (BIMC)

The third annual Botswana International Music Conference (BIMC) that will be held from the  27th November to 1st December 2017 will be headlined by  NAACP Award for Humanitarian Contribution winner Anthony A. Cole.

In trying to go with trends and looking for someone who is more appealing to the youth, the organisers have found it befitting to bring Los Angeles based entertainment guru, A. Cole. The much decorated Cole is the CEO of Complex Entertainment, a full-scope entertainment company dedicated to simplifying the fusion of music and film with other industries of business. Prior to the conception of Complex Entertainment, Cole worked with artists including Bun B, MGMT, Chris Brown, Jay Sean, Rascal Flatts, Kelly Rowland, Solange Knowles, Foreign Beggars, The Cool Kids, Drake, Pimp C, Omarion, Chester French, Aloe Blacc, Ryan Hemsworth, Beyoncé , Trae Tha Truth, Scarface and Kirko Bangz.

He began his career in the entertainment industry in Marketing at Rap-A-Lot Records in 2000. He then ventured out to create top celebratory activities for national sporting events, including the NBA All- Stars and NFL Super Bowl in Las Vegas, Miami, and Denver amongst other major cities. Cole has been a principal contributor to SXSW Festival events since 2005 and is in festivals around the globe.
He has produced international tours and worked with top record labels in album consultation/ artist shopping and as an A&R, including Warner Bros, Music World Entertainment, Universal Music Group, Atlantic Records and Asylum. Cole will present alongside other region heavyweights. During his stay in Botswana, Cole and other presenters will also engage in talent search for future collaborations. During his short stay in Botswana Cole will also visit Kasane for holiday where he hopes to bring some of his artists in future.

Since the start of Complex Entertainment, Cole has led the work with major players in the entertainment industry and has been a beacon for uniting artists with brands, territories, and other opportunities. The company has also opened up channels for American artists in international territories. One of the strongest relationships being that connected to the British Consulate. He has delved into the film industry contributing to projects and television shows “That’s So Raven” and “One On One”, along with two upcoming indie films.

BIMC organizer Seabelo Modibe has told the media that the BIMC is a time for the music industry to gather and network, share ideas and talk music business. He added that it is a platform to also share expertise and knowledge. He reiterated that the objective of the conference is to look at the structure of the Botswana music industry at both national and regional (SADC) levels.
