The Good Radio Awards Have Been Postponed
The much anticipated Good Radio Awards, which were slated for Saturday, have been postponed to November 25 due to technical challenges. The news for the postponement came when a number of radio personalities that are nominees were looking forward to the first ever radio awards this Saturday. β€œWe recently had an emergency meeting with the team. We felt we needed time to work on a few logistics and technicalities to have a well produced awards ceremony since they are the first ones of their kind in the country. We decided not to rush ourselves and have more time to prepare,” Jazzelle Kebakile who is the founder of the awards told Mmegi newspaper. The postponement means that Good Radio Project events DIRA Radio Competition Finals, Good Radio Seminar and Good Radio Awards Night have all been postponed and will all be hosted on the same day. One of the technical issues and challenges they faced was the delivery of trophies, which are customised. β€œThe funder of the trophies did not deliver them on time. Also the first date we had chosen has a number of events taking place so we decided to give people a chance to attend these events and then attend the awards in November”. She expressed gratitude to the Masa Square Hotel management for being patient with them despite the postponement of the awards. The Good Radio Awards recently announced that they have secured a number of judges for the event. The confirmed judges are Simba Mudereri, veterans DJ Sid and One Rabantheng. With the Good Radio Awards being postponed it means that the voting lines are still open and they will be closed on a date yet to be announced. The awards ceremony has categories such as Best Presenter, Best Show, Best NewsReader, Best Radio Station. Every nominee has a voting code.
