VACANCY – FUND OFFICER X2

The Human Resource Development Council (HRDC), an autonomous body whose main objectives among others include provision for Policy Advice with regard to the National Human Resource Development Strategy, coordination and implementation of the strategy, planning and advising on Tertiary Education Financing and Work Place Planning in Botswana, seeks to recruit suitably qualified persons for the above post:

Main Purpose of the Job

Process and evaluate applications for reimbursement from the HRD Fund, and submit to the Fund Assessor for review.

Key Accountabilities

β€’ Answer queries from employers and training institutions on applications for reimbursement from HRD Fund
β€’ Receive and scrutinize applications for reimbursement from the HRD Fund, as well as accompanying documentation
β€’ Check whether the claimants have submitted the appropriate supporting documentation with their application and contact them in case of any missing or incomplete information
β€’ Check and update applicable ceilings/limits for employers
β€’ Calculate entitlements for reimbursements, fill in supporting forms and submit to the Fund Assessor for review
β€’ Compile and consolidate applications and supporting documentation for evaluation and processing
β€’ Record list of approved courses and training services, training providers. Update the database of approved courses and training services to facilitate approval and reimbursement.
β€’ File and record (physical and electronic) applications for reimbursement and claims
β€’ Prepare files and supporting documentation for appeals regarding HRD Fund
β€’ Liaise with Accountant/Accounts Officer (HRD Fund) for any queries regarding the applications for reimbursements
β€’ Assist the Fund Assessor in preparing reports as required.

Competencies

β€’ Knowledge of the sector in Botswana (policies, strategies, legislation and regulations)
β€’ Knowledge of the HRD fund rules and regulations, and levy management processes
β€’ Computer literate.
β€’ Experience with systems and applications in the specific work area
β€’ Communication and interpersonal skills
β€’ Flexibility, dependability and dedication
β€’ Compliance with procedures instructions, rules and regulations
β€’ Service oriented and client focused (including customer care skills)

Position Requirements

Qualifications: At least a Diploma in Finance or Accounting from a recognised institution.

Experience: A minimum of five years’ experience in a similar function preferably within an HRD/Education and Training environment

Remuneration: HRDC offers an attractive remuneration package which is commensurate with qualifications, skills and experience.
