Petition Against Miss Botswana Moving To Twitter
The movement which was started by activist Setlhomo Raymond is gaining momentum by the day. The petition against Thata Kenosi who is reigning Miss Botswana has been signed by many disgruntled citizens who feel she does not deserve to represent us at Miss World.
The petition has now moved from Facebook to another social media platform,Twitter. “We shall Tweet until 13:00hrs Friday when I will be submitting the Petition. We may as well consider Twitting until while awaiting for a response which in my view will be positive. Lets Tweet as we can, you may Tweet more than 1000 times and share the screenshots of your Tweets under this post, he said.
The Miss Botswana issue has already reached beyond our borders, with South African newspaper Sowetan running an article about it.Β “Gone are the days when we will be promoted on our surnames and backgrounds. No one has a special citizenship and this is our country as well,” Raymond concluded. This is clearly an issue of national interest,and we are waiting to see how it goes.
