Failure

There is just something horrifying about failing, it doesn’t matter whether it’s in business or relationships or academics. Failure is just painful, disgraceful. Or is it?? You see, it’s the way we choose to see things that determines whether we become champions or not. Think about it; if you choose to see things from a negative point of view, not only does it leave you feeling down and hopeless, eventually we end up abandoning our dreams because we are too scared to fail. However, there is just something refreshing about positive thinking, it enhances your confidence and ultimately leaves you believing that there is absolutely nothing you cannot achieve.

Instead of seeing failure as horrific, we could choose to see it as a form of a stepping stone. Think about it, it could be that test you failed, that relationship that didn’t work out or that business venture that didn’t do as well as you had hoped. Although when all these may have happened you felt hopeless and miserable, if you take time to reflect, you may realise that you actually learnt something. It could be something internal like patience or practical like studying smarter than you did before. So you see? Failure is upsetting at times, but we always learn something from it. Actually when I come to think of it, failure can be humbling and motivating. Failure helps our character because it makes us unassuming; we learn from others and hence become better individuals.

Yes, it sucks at first but when you have failed at something, give yourself time to mourn whichever way works for you. But, the most important thing is to have introspection after your mourning period. Examine your ways; see where you went wrong and how effectively you can change that. If it means engaging external sources then do so, if it means putting in extra hours of work then do it. After all there is nothing more satisfying than rising from failures because from then on you are bound to never make the same mistakes that you had made. Success is only sweeter when you have worked hard for it. With that said, go out there and be a champion, stop beating yourself up about a failure in the past. Let that failure work in your favour. Be a champion!!
