The President of Botswana, His Excellency Dr Mokgweetsi Eric Keabetswe Masisi has received His Excellency Mr. FΓ©lix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, the President of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) for a three-day State Visit at the Sir Seretse Khama International Airport this morning.

 

Botswana and the DRC enjoy cordial bilateral relations and during the visit, the two heads of state will explore potential areas to further broaden the scope of cooperation in areas of mining; agriculture and food production; energy and trade.

 

While in Botswana President Tshisekedi’s other engagements will include a tour of the Jwaneng Mine; the official opening of the DRC Chancery in Gaborone; engagement with the SADC Secretariat as the current Chair of SADC; as well as participation at the Botswana-DRC Business Forum.

 

President Tshisekedi is accompanied by Government Ministers, Senior officials and representatives from the private sector.
