Unemployed?An NGO wouldn’t be bad!

Unemployment is sure the orst thing that has hit a large crop of youth members in the country. However,something that they barely ever give thought to like an NGO would prove viable. Here we give you reasons why an NHO would be good but also ehat you must learn about starting an NGO;

NPOs (Non-Profit Organisations) are not for profit, so giving should be in your DNA otherwise you won’t last. Have passion for whatever the cause you are standing for and give your heart and soul to it.

This is not a job, it becomes a lifestyle – it takes far more commitment than an 8h00 to 16h00 job. BUT the reward is also way better in terms of making a difference in the lives of others. When you see change – real change in someone’s eyes – it touches you forever and leaves a legacy for life.

Understand the issues and do this by listening – do not impose on people what you think are the solutions. Find people or supporters with a similar vision and passion.

Firstly, I would encourage people not to start a non-profit organisation as there are already so many but to find one that you can fit into and make a difference through. My advice working for a non-profit would be to realise that change takes time and to persevere when times get hard, don’t give up.

Do what you can, with what you have, where you are. Start small β€” grow from there. And make sure you take care of your corporate governance and finances.
