Police have arrested five men, four Batswana and one Zimbabwean in connection with twoseparate incidents of robbery that occurred in Selibe-Phikwe and Gaborone

In one of the incidents that occurred in Selibe-Phikwe this Tuesday (01/03/2022), the Police arrested two Batswana aged 27 and 28. The arrest follows an incident in which a Botswana Post vehicle was robbed of P97 185.00 destined to pay pensioners in the area.

Police investigations revealed that one of the suspects the suspects was the driver of the vehicle. The Police have since recovered P73 140.25 from one of the suspects who was arrested in Gaborone.

In yet another incident that happened in Gaborone, two Batswana aged 32 and 37 together with a Zimbabwean national aged 39 were arrested for attacking and robbing a family of their
property in Tsholofelo in the wee hours of today (03/03/2022).
The three men were arrested at White City and all the items including six cellphones and two laptops stolen during the robbery were recovered.

Preliminary investigations have since revealed that one of the suspects has been on the Police wanted list for a G4S Security cash-in-transit heist in which cash amounting to P9
Million was stolen at Block 6 in Gaborone last August.

Meanwhile, two Batswana men aged 44 and 51 were apprehended in Mogoditshane yesterday (02/03/2022) for stealing stock. They were arrested after they failed to account for eight carcasses suspected to be of stock stolen in the Kweneng area. One of the suspects is of the Butchery while his counterpart is currently on bail for a previous case of stealing stock.
