The Media Institute of Southern Africa (Misa) Botswana team announced they are ready to celebrate World Press Freedom Day during a Press Conference this morning.

The 30th-anniversary celebration of World Press Freedom Day is a call to re-centre press freedom and independent, pluralistic and diverse media as necessary to enjoy all other human rights. The celebrations will be held globally on the 3rd of May 2023 and celebrated nationally on the 6th of May 2023 in Gaborone, Francistown and Maun.

Misa advocates for media freedom and freedom of expression in Southern Africa. Misa Botswana pleads with the media fraternity, and organisations to give them support.
