Botswana Launches Major Research Project to Strengthen Infection Prevention and Combat Antimicrobial Resistance

Botswana has taken an important step forward in its fight against antimicrobial resistance by launching a new implementation science research project that focuses on improving infection prevention and control practices in hospitals. Yesterday marked a significant milestone as the Ministry of Health, working in partnership with the University of Botswana, officially introduced the project titled “Implementation of Infection Prevention and Control Bundles Using a Comprehensive Unit-based Safety Program Across Multiple Hospitals in Botswana.” The initiative reflects the country’s growing commitment to protecting patients, strengthening healthcare systems, and addressing one of the world’s most serious public health challenges.
