Botswana’s award-winning songstress, Amantle Brown, is set to take the global stage with high-profile performances at the South by Southwest (SXSW) and Billboard Global Power Players events in London, United Kingdom, on 4th and 5th June 2025. These performances mark a major milestone in her career and spotlight Botswana’s creative potential on an international platform.
Amantle’s participation comes as part of a strategic partnership between the Botswana Investment and Trade Centre (BITC) and Global Venture Partners (GVP). She has been selected by Billboard to represent Botswana at the awards ceremony, where she will perform alongside African music powerhouse Tems and rising star Lulu. The events coincide with the official launch of Billboard Africa, a significant development for the continent’s music industry.
While in London, Amantle Brown will also engage in promotional efforts for Botswana’s creative sector, building international networks and exploring potential collaborations that could benefit the country’s arts and entertainment industries. Speaking ahead of her trip, Amantle expressed her excitement and gratitude.
“This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I’m truly grateful to BITC, Christa Capital, Continental Reinsurance, Emeritus, and all the stakeholders who made this possible. I will represent Botswana and our artists with pride and carry our flag high. I’m excited to show the world what Botswana has to offer and to open doors for more creatives back home,” she said.
BITC acknowledged the generous support from its clients—Christa Capital, Continental Reinsurance, and Emeritus—who played a crucial role in making her participation possible. The partnership underscores the importance of private sector involvement in promoting Botswana’s talent and cultural identity on the global stage.
As part of the event, Billboard Africa will present a prestigious award to a top African artist. The award includes a curated tourism experience in Botswana’s Okavango Delta, hosted by BITC client Abercrombie & Kent Travel Group at their luxury Chief’s Camp property. This initiative blends cultural celebration with tourism promotion, showcasing Botswana as a unique and premium destination.
Additionally, the BITC-GVP partnership will see the establishment of GVP’s regional headquarters for its renowned media brands—Billboard, TIME, Robb Report, and Rolling Stone (MENA region)—in Botswana. This move is expected to strengthen Botswana’s presence in the global media and entertainment landscape and create opportunities for local creatives and businesses.
BITC continues to collaborate with partners to maximize the benefits of this partnership, ensuring Botswana takes its rightful place on the international stage. Through Amantle Brown’s participation in these landmark events, Botswana proudly steps into the global spotlight, ready to share its talent, culture, and innovation with the world.
