1. Position: SPECIALIST ANAESTHETIST
Salary scale:E2 (P407, 484 β P423, 972) per annum
Qualifications: First Grade Specialist in Anaesthesiology
Experience: At least 1 year post qualification.
Duties & Responsibilities: All basic duties related to the medical department of a busy District Hospital:
β’ Heads the Anaesthesia department and is responsible for the efficiency of the department. This includes decisive ward rounds, counselling of patients and relatives, ordering investigations, referring patients to other departments or facilities.
β’ Gives anaesthesia to patients, supervises anaesthesia given by others and advises on the scope safely possible
β’ Competent in all anesthetic techniques
β’ Assists in the management of critical patients
2. Position:SPECIALIST GYNAECOLOGIST/OBSTETRICIAN
Salary scale:E2 (P407, 484 β P423, 972) per annum
Qualifications: Specialist qualification
Experience: At least 1 year post qualification.
Duties & Responsibilities: All basic duties related to Gynaecologist/Obstetrician in a busy District Hospital:
β’ Heading Maternity Ward
β’ Guiding Medical Officers, Midwives and Nurses in all obstetrics and gynecology related topics.
β’ Performing standard major Gynecological operations.
3. Position:MEDICAL OFFICER
Salary scale:D4 (P232, 140 β P255, 876) per annum
Qualifications: MBChB
Experience:At least 1 year post qualification. Experience in obstetrics and should be able to perform
Caesarean section on his/her own.
Duties & Responsibilities: All basic duties related to the medical department of a busy District Hospital:
β’ The Officer should be able to work independently in the wards and in the outpatient department.
β’ Taking night and weekend calls.
4. Position:NURSE ANAESTHETIST
Salary Scale: C1 (P174, 672 β P207, 792) per annum)
Qualifications: Post Basic Diploma in Nurse Anaesthesia
Experience: 2 years post Anaesthesia training.
Duties & Responsibilities:
β’ Making an assessment of patients for surgery
β’ Administering local and general Anaesthesia to surgical patients, monitoring and managing patients recovering from anaesthesia
β’ Ensuring that there is adequate inventory and supply of anesthetic drugs and gases by ordering them on time.
β’ Participating actively both in operating theatre and Hospital meetings.
5. Position: PRINCIPAL REGISTERED NURSE/MIDWIFE
Salary Scale: C1 (P174, 672 β P207, 792) per annum)
Qualifications: Diploma in Midwifery
Diploma in General Nursing
Experience:At least 2 years of experience
Duties & Responsibilities:
β’ Systematic comprehensive health history taking and physical assessment of clients and patients in Reproductive Health Unit, Maternity Ward and General Wards.
β’ Identifies and manages effectively common obstetric emergencies.
β’ Identifies health care needs, makes diagnoses following correct interpretation of findings and takes appropriate actions across the human life cycle
6. Position: PRINCIPAL PHARMACY TECHNICIAN
Salary Scale: C1 (P174, 672 β P207, 792) per annum)
Qualifications: Diploma in Pharmacy Technician
Experience: At least 6 years post qualification
Computer Literacy and ARV experience is of advantage
Duties and Responsibilities: All duties related to pharmacy in a busy district hospital. The officer should be able to work independently and his/her
responsibilities include among others:
β’ Ordering, Stock control and dispensing of pharmaceuticals as per Ministry Of Health and Mission Standards
β’ Taking calls, Supervising and guiding junior staff
β’ Deputizing the pharmacist.
7. Position:SENIOR RADIOGRAPHY OFFICER
Salary Scale:C2 (P141, 792 β P 168, 576 per annum)
Qualifications: Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography
Experience:A minimum of 1 year practical experience in medical Ultrasound.
Duties & Responsibilities: All duties related to diagnostic radiography in a busy District Hospital, including calls with minimum supervision.
β’ The officer should be able to work independently and participate in supplies management.
β’ Should be able to make appointments for specialized examinations
β’ Should be able to take part in a department quality assurance program
β’ Should be able to perform ultrasound scans (Obstetrics & gynecology, abdominal).
8. Position: SENIOR REGISTERED NURSE
Salary Scale: C2 (P141, 792 -168, 576 per annum)
Qualifications: Diploma in General Nursing
Experience:2 yearsβ experience
Duties & Responsibilities: All duties related to a busy District Hospital.

β’ Critical assessment of patients and their families, and address their needs
β’ Ensure and maintain accurate nursing records
β’ Ensure a safe caring environment for patients, families and staff
