PRESIDENT HICHILEMA ARRIVES IN BOTSWANA

His Excellency Dr. Mokgweetsi Masisi The President of the Republic of Botswana today received the President of the Republic of Zambia His Excellency Mr. Hakainde Hichilema at Kasane International Airport for a two day working visit.

During the visit, President Masisi and President Hichilema will hold Official Talks on issues of common interest including exploring potential areas to further enhance cooperation between Botswana and Zambia.

Botswana and Zambia established diplomatic relations in 1966, and enjoy strong cordial bilateral relations founded on shared values of mutual respect, commitment to democracy, good governance, respect for human rights and the rule of law.

Bilateral relations between the two countries extend to cooperation in various sectors such as agriculture, tourism, health, trade and transport. One of the milestones realised through the fruitful cooperation, is the construction of the Kazungula Bridge which was officially opened in 2021.

His Excellency President Hichilema is accompanied by Government Ministers and Senior Officials.
