BURS hiring a Manager Accounts Maintenance

Botswana Unified Revenue Service (BURS) is a semi-autonomous organization of Government, responsible for assessing and collecting tax revenue as well as border administration. BURS invites dynamic, self- motivated and qualified citizens of Botswana to apply for the following post:

1. MANAGER, ACCOUNTS MAINTENANCE X 1 (GABORONE)
Main Purpose of the Job
To plan, organise, manage and control the development and implementation of policies, processes and procedures to maintain taxpayer and other customer accounts, and oversee account adjustments and refund transactions as necessary and within the BURS service standards, and thereby contribute to revenue maximization, voluntary compliance and achievement of BURS’ objectives and targets.
Key Performance Areas
1. Establishment of secure, efficient and consistent procedures for reconciliations of tax returns, payments, declarations and timely despatch of refunds
2. Automation of refunds and adjustment processes
3. Minimisation of queries and objections
4. Security and availability of taxpayer information
5. Customer service
6. Training and development of staff
Position Requirements
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Audit, Economics, Law, Commerce, membership of an internationally recognized institute of professional accountant such as ACCA, CIMA or related.
Experience: At least six (6) years relevant post qualification experience in the accounting, audit, legal, and tax administration profession, two (2) of which should have been at professional or supervisory level or equivalent in a revenue service/tax administration environment.

Salary: BURS 04 (P419, 844 – P509, 808 per annum)
