MAUN TO BE UPGRADED-PRESIDENT MASISI

His Excellency President Dr. Mokgweetsi Masisi has today announced plans to uplift Maun to a city. President Masisi revealed this during the 4th Session of the Botswana Zimbabwe Bi-national Commission held Maun.

President Masisi said Botswana will continue to advocate for removal of illegal and unwarranted sanctions which continue to stifle Zimbabwe’s economic recovery. He further added that the sanctions do not only impact on Zimbabwe but add a negative impact on development efforts in Africa.

President Masisi expressed gratitude and appreciation to Zimbabwe for amending the Veterans of the Liberation Struggle Act which include Botswana as a country that contributed to Zimbabwe’s Liberation Struggle.

The two countries also signed a memorandum of Agreement on Gainful Employment of Spouses of Diplomatic Consular Staff.
