Designer Mothusi Lesolle Is Giving Away Prom Dresses To The Needy!
One of the Vision 2016 pillars, is to be a loving, compassionate and caring nation. Now that we are in 2016, it is time for us to put the vision in action. One of the people who are doing the best they could is fashion designer Mothusi Lesolle. Through his project Fashion With A Purpose this year, he will be collecting Β prom dresses for those girls who cannot afford dresses.
“We are slowly getting to that time of the year where proms are coming. I know how much prom means especially to the girl child and it’s not every parent that canΒ afford to buy their child a designer dress. Last year I decided to make a few young girls happy who can not afford buying prom dresses by making them dresses of course with the help of their schools who helped me buy fabrics because my business is still small and can’t fully afford to do it on my own. Some of the girls were from refugee camps who have been separated from their families because of political and economic instabilities, ” he said.
Being in the fashion industry, he knows that to wear a designer dress isΒ an amazing experience forΒ girls. “So many ladies offered me their dresses that they have only used once and can not repeat them again. I would like to appeal to the public especially outside Gaborone that if you know of any girl child that is not privileged enough but would like to attend their school prom this year to let me know because I have designer dresses donated by wonderful ladies just waiting to have someone claim it and look like a star on their prom night. its one of the projects of iZaura that I call “Fashion With A Purpose”. So please help me help many young girls out there,” he concluded.
