BACKGROUND
The Department was established in 2016 at a point when the country was and still faced with challenged of youth unemployment, generally low productivity across the sectors of the economy as well as low economic growth. These challenges required fresh line of thinking to provide a positive sustainable response to deal with issues of labour productivity and economic performance.
MANDATE
The Departmentβs mandate is to promote productivity and competitiveness in terms of policy development and coordination.
