“I Don’t Like Gaborone”-HHP
Today Β Hip Hop Pantsola is spitting venom on twitter. This time his tweets are directed at his sudden hate for our capital city, Gaborone. According to him Gaborone is a shadow image of itself. “I don’t like Gaborone. It used to be such a lovely humble town. Now it’s as ratchet as Jozi. I’ll see them in a year,” he said on Twitter.
HHP is one of the few South African artists who had a huge following in Botswana, more especially the big city. Now it seems as if the tables have changed as he vows never to set his foot in GC again. He however states that he will visit and perform at various places in Botswana. In a surprising twist of events, one local rapper Stagga who is in London also re-tweeted HHP’S tweet and said he also has boycotted Gaborone.
Local artists and promoters always cry that preference is given to international artists over them when it comes to major events. Jaba has in the past been a main act in many events in this country, now he is coming back to bite the hand that fed him. This should be a major lesson, foreign acts do not have our best interest at heart, but rather they are after making money. Well maybe these are nothing but repercussions of his suicidal attempts.
