Schools Selected For Phase 1 Implementation Of The Mother Tongue Languages In Primary Schools

The following schools will implement phase I of the Language Policy in Education in January 2023 in nine (9) regions.

These languages will not be taught as subjects, nor will they replace English and Setswana as mediums of instruction, but will be used as a medium of instruction to help explain concepts as needed where a learner has difficulties understanding the concept in Setswana or English. These languages will be used in Pre- primary and Standard I for the year 2023
