Following her win in Botswana in August, dancer Malebogo ‘Lebo M’ Mabifhi is set to compete at the Redbull Dance Your Style World Final in Los Angeles, USA, this Saturday. The 28-year-old joins dancers from over 50 countries for a week-long series of workshops, open jams, and preparations leading to the final competition.
The main event will feature 16 of the world’s top street dancers battling in an all-styles competition. The winner will be decided by the audience, making crowd engagement a key factor in the competition.
“It is a great experience for me, having interacted with amazing and talented dancers from around the world. I am nervous, anxious and excited at the same time,” Mabifhi said in an interview. She added, “I don’t want to overwhelm myself with other people’s abilities and capabilities. I just want to be myself and with God by my side, I truly believe I am capable of doing anything.”
Mabifhi said she will use the experience to expand her knowledge of dance and gain insights into different cultural perspectives. “It is important to understand art and dance from various people’s point of view,” she said, emphasizing the value of learning from her international peers.
Her participation in the world final marks a significant step in her career, offering exposure to new styles and techniques while showcasing her talent on a global stage.
