The finalists of Miss Universe Botswana 2025 recently attended an engaging and informative Know Your Ministry workshop hosted by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure. The session was part of the contestants’ ongoing journey of empowerment, civic education, and national engagement as they prepare for the highly anticipated pageant finale.
Held at the Ministry’s headquarters, the workshop provided the young women with an in-depth overview of the Ministry’s mandate, operations, and its crucial role in driving Botswana’s socio-economic development. The session aimed to bridge the gap between government institutions and the youth, fostering a deeper understanding of how national infrastructure supports sustainable growth.
During the workshop, officials from the Ministry walked the finalists through key areas such as transportation planning, road and railway development, aviation infrastructure, and public service delivery. Presentations emphasized how infrastructure projects contribute to job creation, trade facilitation, and community upliftment.
“This workshop is not just about knowing what the Ministry does. It’s about inspiring young leaders to see how they can contribute to Botswana’s development through advocacy, innovation, and civic responsibility,” said one of the facilitators during the session.
The Miss Universe Botswana organization continues to position the pageant as more than a beauty competition, but a platform for grooming informed, confident, and socially conscious young women. By engaging directly with national institutions, the finalists gain valuable insight into the inner workings of government and the importance of infrastructure in achieving Vision 2036 and national development goals.
One finalist shared her appreciation for the experience, noting, “It was eye-opening to learn how roads, airports, and other infrastructure we often take for granted are central to improving people’s lives and enabling economic growth.”
The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure has reaffirmed its support for initiatives that educate and empower youth, especially those who play influential roles in society. Through collaborative programs like Know Your Ministry, Botswana continues to foster a generation of informed ambassadors who can represent the country with pride on global platforms.
As the countdown to the Miss Universe Botswana 2025 grand finale continues, the finalists carry with them not only elegance and poise, but a growing awareness of the nation’s priorities and their own potential to inspire progress.
