The Miss Universe Botswana finalists currently undergoing an intensive boot camp in South Africa are reportedly making impressive progress as they prepare for the upcoming pageant. According to Miss Universe Botswana director, Safie Sekgwa, the contestants have been actively engaged in a series of rigorous training sessions designed to sharpen their skills and boost their confidence.
In an exclusive interview, Sekgwa revealed that the finalists have been drilled in public speaking exercises, question and answer assessments, and leadership challenges, including the innovative ‘Stars of the Universe’ program. These sessions aim to enhance the contestants’ communication abilities and develop their poise and presence on stage. Additionally, the finalists received professional makeup training from MAC, equipping them with expert beauty techniques.
Beyond the classroom, the finalists have also enjoyed team-building and cultural experiences. During their stay at The Maslow Hotel in Johannesburg, they visited the iconic Sun City resort where they participated in a 5km jog, embarked on a game drive, and toured the luxurious facilities. These activities foster camaraderie while exposing the finalists to Botswana’s rich heritage and outdoor adventures.
A notable highlight of the boot camp was a meeting with Botswana’s High Commissioner to South Africa, Dr. Sanji Monageng, who addressed the group on diplomatic etiquette—an essential skill for pageant representatives on the international stage. The finalists also engaged with Botswana’s Consul General and took part in a virtual session with Assistant Minister of Local Government and Traditional Affairs, Mr. Ignatius Moswaane. The session focused on life after the pageant, offering valuable insights into career planning and community leadership.
The combination of intensive training, cultural exposure, and mentorship is positioning the Miss Universe Botswana finalists for success as they gear up to represent their country with pride. Their dedication and professionalism during this boot camp reflect the high standards and values that the Miss Universe Botswana organization champions.
As the pageant approaches, all eyes will be on these talented young women as they showcase their growth and readiness to compete on the global Miss Universe stage.
