Namibian President Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah Pays Courtesy Call on President Duma Gideon Boko to Strengthen Bilateral Ties

President of the Republic of Namibia, Her Excellency Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, today paid a courtesy call on President Duma Gideon Boko in Gaborone. The meeting, which brought together two long-standing allies, underscored the enduring strength of the diplomatic relationship between Namibia and Botswana.

During their official talks, the two leaders engaged in constructive discussions on a range of bilateral, regional, and global issues of mutual interest. The agenda focused on deepening cooperation between the neighbouring countries in key areas such as trade, infrastructure development, energy, security, environmental management, and cross-border mobility.

President Boko welcomed his Namibian counterpart with warm regards, reaffirming Botswana’s commitment to strengthening the bonds of friendship and collaboration with Namibia. He praised the shared values and vision that unite the two nations, noting that both countries have long supported one another through mutual respect, regional integration, and cooperative development.

President Nandi-Ndaitwah, who recently assumed office as Namibia’s head of state, expressed her appreciation for Botswana’s continued partnership and hospitality. She emphasized the importance of enhancing collaboration in order to address common challenges and seize emerging opportunities in Southern Africa.

Namibia and Botswana enjoy a unique diplomatic relationship rooted in a shared history of solidarity and socio-economic development. The two countries have consistently worked together within regional bodies such as the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and the African Union to promote peace, security, and sustainable development across the continent.
