OPERATING HOURS- COVID-19 RESTRICTED MOVEMENT

His Excellency the President declared a state of emergency and announced a 28-day restricted movement from 2 April 2020 midnight. Water Utilities Corporation (WUC) therefore informs customers and members of the public that it has amended its operations to focus on the delivery of essential services during this period.
The following services will be offered during the lockdown;
1. Water connections and Bowsing Services
2. Fixing of Pipe Bursts and Leakages
3. Sewage Services and attending to spillages
4. Monitoring and attending to Water Quality Queries
5. Purchasing of Prepaid Tokens at Revenue Offices, Mondays & Thursdays from 0900hrs to 1500hrs

The following services will NOT be provided during the lockdown;
1. All Revenue Offices will be closed except for purchase of Prepaid Tokens only on Monday and Thursdays from 0900hrs to 1500hrs
2. Receipt and Processing of Applications for New Connections
3. Physical Meter Readings. (Customers are advised to submit Meter readings via self service channels)

The WUC Contact Centre will remain the main point of customer contact during this period, and all queries should be logged through 0800 555 555 or emailed to [email protected]. Operating times are from 0730hrs to 2330hrs daily.
WUC kindly requests customers, for their convenience, to make use of the self-service platforms; *186#, the WUC APP and www.wuc.bw, to report water supply emergencies, submit meter readings, check and pay bills anytime and from anywhere.
The public is also informed that essential WUC employees shall bear special COVID-19 permits and identification cards for use during this period to ensure sustainable water supply across the country.
We encourage our valued customers, to actively prevent the spread of COVID-19, wash hands with soap and water frequently and exercise social distancing. We further encourage wise water usage for sustained and equitable water distribution.
