Religious Institutions Implored To Influence Reset And Mindset Change

His Excellency the President of the Republic of Botswana Dr Mokgweetsi Eric Keabetswe Masisi and Her Excellency the First Lady Mrs Neo Jane Masisi this morning joined congregants of the Mogoditshane Congregational Church (UCCSA) during their annual Harvest Service.

Addressing the congregants Dr Masisi made emphasis on the Government’s efforts to resuscitate the economy, as well as introduction of the RESET AGENDA geared towards setting new priorities and formulating relevant strategies that would address existing and emerging challenges.

His Excellency made special mention of the Government’s priority no. 5 “MINDSET CHANGE”, and urged congregants to reflect on the status quo and devise new ways of doing things. He encouraged the audience to embrace the aspect of mindset change, reflect on ways of doing things, and evaluate what needs to be changed. He said that, in so doing one needs to deliberately develop strategies towards ensuring that they make a positive change and impact in their community and ultimately the nation at large.

President Masisi highlighted that the Government values the contribution made by religious institutions and societies, especially churches in the development of the nation. He stated that Government views Churches as the foundation of families that build communities and ultimately a nation.

Among the congregation was the Paramount Chief of Bakwena Kgosi Kgari Sechele III and his wife, BDF Commander Lieutenant General Placid Diratsagae Segokgo and the World’s U20-100m record holder Mr Letsile Tebogo.
