Leader of Opposition Mr Dumelang Saleshando has requested government to assist Batswana in the informal sector since they have been negatively affected by Covid-19.
Speaking during the special parliamentary meeting yesterday , Mr Saleshando said some Batswana who do not have food and income, have not yet received food basket 30 days after lockdown. He urged government to speed up the process of food provision.
He said some citizens are not able to pay their business and residential rentals due to the pandemic, most of whom are in the informal sector.
Prior to that Hon. Saleshando had asked the Speaker to allow him to move a motion, stating that some Batswana are not able to pay their business and residential rentals due to the pandemic.
