It’s official—Police XI, famously known as The Jungle Kings, are roaring back into the First National Bank (FNB) Premier League. After a fiercely contested 2024/2025 First Division South League campaign, the team was officially crowned champions on 29 May 2025 in Mmopane, following a decisive encounter with Holy Ghost Football Club.
As dawn broke over the Holy Ghost FC Grounds, golden sunlight poured over the pitch—an omen of triumph for the boys in gold. Clad in their iconic kit, The Jungle Kings stepped onto the field not just to compete, but to seal their return in ceremonial fashion. Though the match ended in a goalless draw, it was the result they needed. The mission was complete.
For head coach Padzayi Mandivenga and his technical team, this moment represented the culmination of grit, strategy, and a season of tireless work. Coach Mandivenga, who had vowed to bring back the glory days, delivered as promised.
“I commend Holy Ghost FC for their performance in this game. They pressed high, defended with determination, and gave us a tough final test, but we had a plan and stuck to it,” said Mandivenga in an interview with local media shortly after the match.
