Miss Universe Botswana organisers have expressed disappointment following the 74th edition of the international pageant held in Bangkok, Thailand. The competition featured 120 contestants from around the world, with Miss Mexico Fatima Bosch ultimately winning the crown.

Nthabiseng Masibi, a member of the Botswana organising team, highlighted that Lilian Andries delivered an exceptional performance throughout the pageant. She praised Andries’ swimsuit segment, describing it as outstanding, and expressed that the contestant deserved a Top 5 placement. Despite not advancing to the Top 30, Masibi noted that Andries remained motivated and gave her best in every stage of the competition.

The organisers emphasised that Lilian Andries represented Botswana with confidence and professionalism, showcasing talent, poise, and resilience on the global stage. Her performance, they said, reflects the high standards of Botswana’s national pageant programme and sets a foundation for future contestants.

While the outcome was disappointing for the team, they acknowledged the experience as valuable for both Lilian Andries and the broader pageant community in Botswana. The organisers reaffirmed their commitment to preparing candidates who can compete strongly at international levels in future Miss Universe editions.

The 74th Miss Universe pageant reinforced Botswana’s presence on the global stage, highlighting the country’s growing reputation for producing well-prepared and confident representatives in international beauty competitions.
