The Minister of Health and Wellness Dr Lemogang Kwape says government is highly appreciative of the continued support from the People Republic of China in the fight against Covid-19.
Dr Kwape said this when receiving the second consignment of emergency medical supplies donated by the People’s Republic of China at the Sir Seretse Khama International Airport this afternoon.
Dr Kwape said the medical emergency supplies remain a critical need at this time especially for front line service providers. He said the supplies will ensure that front line service providers are protected throughout the country while combating Covid-19.
Meanwhile, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Botswana Dr Zhao Yanbo said the donations will boost Government of Botswana’s battle against Covid-19.
The consignment included Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) i.e disposable protective clothing, face and surgical masks, medical protective goggles, medical disposable sterilized gloves and medical isolation shoe covers.
