GU faces Hurdles

Gaborone football giants continues to face more and more hurdles as recently six of their players terminated their contracts with the team. Gaborone United (GU) is flocked by a number of financial melancholies. Among others, the Gaborone sporting club is alleged to be in deep debt following a P400 000 slap they were charged with by FIFA for wrongfully terminating a contract they had with Ghananian player Appiah Bismack.

This week GU players namely Thatayaone Ditlhokwe, Goitseone Phoko, Tumisang Orebonye, Karabo Phiri, Tshepho Maikano and Kabelo Seakanyeng are alleged to have left the bed ridden club. Since the beginning of the year GU has lost its tactician Rodolfo Zapata who is also said to be owe money by the football outfit. Rapula Okaile who was the club’s chairman also left the club citing personal engagements. The club is also alleged to be owing Dragojlo Stanojlovic widely known as Drago more sums of money.
