Local Body Builder Gontse Sechele Ranked Number 4 In The World

Gontse Sechele has been ranked fourth during the National Amateur Body Building Association (NABBA) World Fitness Federation Championships held at Expo Cypress, Nicosia Cypress, early this month.

A press release from Seven Fifty Mils says the number one spot went to South Africa while Hungary and Iran got position two and three respectively. In the athletic category, another Motswana body builder, Tobokani Maletamotse came sixth out of 16 competitors. β€œOf the 14 competitors from across the globe including Austria, Australia, Brazil, France, Hungary, Iran, Italy, Korea, Lebanon, Malta, New Zealand, Serbia, South Africa and Botswana, Sechele competed under the extreme body category and was ranked in at number four,” it states.

It further explains that based on body type and fitness class, the judges paid attention to weight, height, symmetry, muscularity and condition, while four categories that the male competed under were athletics, performance, super and the ultimate extreme category which Sechele competed in. The release says the requirements to qualify in the extreme category are a minimum weight of 95kg and a minimum height of 1,75m, and that all categories have their height and weight requirements.

The press release quoted Sechele as saying that β€œit was a challenge competing for the first time in the extreme body category when I usually compete in the super body category. Everything to do with the competition was so professionally run and I could feel the intensity of the competitors and the aggressive desire to win.” According to the press release, the next step for Sechele will be to get ready for the WFF Pretoria Classic, which is an internationally ranked competition to be held in May 2018 at the University of South Africa (UNISA) campus in Pretoria.
