Preparations are underway as Miss Universe Botswana, Lillian Andries, gears up to represent the country at the 2025 Miss Universe pageant. Scheduled for November 21 in Bangkok, Thailand, the event will see contestants from around the world compete for the prestigious crown.
Speaking to members of the media, Andries expressed determination to make a significant impact on the international stage. She stated that her goal is not merely to participate but to bring the crown home, emphasizing that she will not simply be “adding numbers” in the competition. Her confidence reflects extensive preparation and a commitment to showcasing Botswana’s culture and talent globally.
As part of her pre-pageant activities, a Home-Coming festival is set for October 17, during which Andries will visit her home village. The festival will provide an opportunity for communities to celebrate their queen and show support ahead of her international journey. First Princess Dabilo Moses and Second Princess Wangu Modise have pledged their allegiance to Andries, reinforcing the unity and backing within the national pageant organization.
Support for the pageant continues from corporate partners, with Sunbet Botswana’s Managing Director, Tsholofelo Makgoeng, reaffirming the company’s commitment to sponsorship and ongoing support. Additionally, Miss Universe Botswana Director, Safie Sekgwa, appealed to other organizations to contribute to the initiative, stressing that broader support will enable the pageant team to fulfill their objectives to full capacity.
With preparations in full swing, Lillian Andries’ journey to Bangkok highlights Botswana’s presence on the global pageantry stage. Her determination, combined with community and organizational support, positions her as a strong contender and a source of national pride.
