During yesterday’s Motivational Mondays session, MYGA staff member Mr. Kabelo Tsiang led an inspiring discussion on introspection and supporting one another. He emphasized that personal reflection is crucial for growth, both individually and within the community.

Mr. Tsiang encouraged staff to act as their “brother’s keeper,” stressing the importance of doing what pleases God and maintaining positive attitudes in daily life. He linked societal challenges, particularly Gender-Based Violence (GBV), to the tendency to remain silent when abuse occurs close to home. He urged everyone to be proactive in offering help and standing up for those at risk.

Adding to the conversation, Mr. Monnaesi highlighted the need for mindset transformation and more inclusive policies, especially for the boy child. He noted that boys often grow up without sufficient support, despite their critical role in shaping a respectful and equal society. Teaching boys from a young age that girls are equal and deserving of respect is essential in preventing GBV.

Mr. Monnaesi also pointed out that while girls often receive emotional and social support, many are not adequately taught financial independence, leaving some vulnerable to remaining in abusive relationships. The session concluded with a collective call for introspection, unity, and intentional efforts to build safer and more supportive communities for all.
