VACANCY: Temporary Assistant Scientific Officer/Technical Officer (3Posts)

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Botswana citizens for the above mentioned posts tenable in various extension areas in Kgatleng District.

Salary scale: C4 (P73416.00-P87695.00) or C3 (P90984.00-P108732.00) per annum Leave days: 25 working days per annum Qualification: Diploma or Degree in Animal Health/Animal Science OR EQUIVALENT

Duration: 1 year

Main purpose of the Job: To attend clinical cases, advice farmers on animal health and welfare matters (farmers training) and issue permits according to BAITS regulations.
Key Competencies: Drive for Results; Customer focus; Problem solving.

Key performance areas:  Undertake disease surveillance, prepare and submitting samples to Botswana National Veterinary Laboratory.  Issuance of electronic livestock movement permits according to BAITS regulations.  Implementation of BAITS and market compliance.  Keep all records of activities in the extension area.  Supervise and appraise subordinate staff.  Undertake any other duties assigned by the supervisor to meet exigency of service.
