1983 Apple Computer Expected To Sell For $40,000
One of the first desktop computers produced by Apple is expected to sell for roughly $40,000 at an auction in Germany.
Lisa-1 was a revolutionary PC released by the company in January 1983. It was the first ever computer to come with a mouse.
Developed by Apple founders β Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak β Lisa-1 was also the first PC to use icons instead of simple text.
The 35-years-old computer introduced several features used to this day, including overlapping windows, pull-down menus and the recycle bin.
At the time of release Lisa-1 was considered state-of-the-art technology, and its initial price was $10,000, but would cost $24,000 today considering inflation rates over the years.
There are estimated 100 Lisa-1 PCs left in the world.
The auction will take place Nov. 11 in Cologne.
