The highly anticipated 2025 Ghanzi Show, scheduled to take place from July 21 to 26 at the Ghanzi showground, has received a significant boost with sponsorships exceeding P1.1 million. The announcement was made by Ghanzi Show Trust Chairperson Thato Molomo during a press briefing held in Gaborone earlier today.

Leading the list of sponsors is Sandfire Mine with a contribution of P350,000, followed by Security Systems, which pledged P426,000 in both cash and kind. The Botswana Tourism Organisation has dedicated P268,000 specifically to support the popular horse race segment of the show, while Botswana Oil has contributed P75,000 to the event.

Molomo expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support from both the private and public sectors, stating that the sponsorships reflect growing confidence in the value of the Ghanzi Show as a platform for agricultural innovation, trade, and community development. He emphasised that this year’s edition promises to be bigger and more impactful, particularly for the farming community in the region.

The 2025 Ghanzi Show will host 37 exhibitors showcasing a diverse range of agricultural products and services. More than 250 head of cattle are expected to be on display, including the introduction of the Dexter breed for the first time. Local farmers will also have an opportunity to exhibit and sell their horticultural produce, further promoting agro-business and local food systems.

Adding to the excitement, the event will be officially opened by President Advocate Duma Boko, who is set to deliver the keynote address. His presence is expected to draw national attention to the show and underline the government’s commitment to supporting Botswana’s agricultural sector and rural economies.

The Ghanzi Show has long been a cornerstone of Botswana’s agricultural calendar, attracting stakeholders from across the country to celebrate innovation, investment, and partnerships in the sector. With this year’s strong financial backing and an expanded programme, the 2025 edition is poised to deliver valuable opportunities for farmers, entrepreneurs, and exhibitors alike.
