The Ambassador of the Republic of Botswana to Madagascar, Ms Chandapiwa Nteta, presented her Letters of Credence and Letters of Recall of her predecessor to His Excellency Mr Andry Nirina Rajoelina, President of the Republic of Madagascar, at the State Palace of Iavoloha. The ceremony marked a new chapter in Botswana-Madagascar relations, which have historically focused on multilateral cooperation.
During official discussions, President Rajoelina and Ambassador Nteta explored potential areas of collaboration aimed at deepening bilateral ties. The talks highlighted opportunities for mutual benefit in sectors such as trade, investment, and cultural exchange, building on the foundation of cooperation between the two nations.
Botswana and Madagascar currently maintain cordial relations, having formally established diplomatic ties in 2005. The presentation of credentials signals a renewed commitment to strengthening these relations and expanding cooperation beyond traditional multilateral engagements.
Ambassador Nteta emphasized Botswana’s dedication to fostering strong diplomatic links with Madagascar and expressed optimism that her tenure would contribute to enhanced collaboration and shared growth between the two countries.
