Botswana and Angola have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation in tourism, environmental management, wildlife conservation and the sustainable use of natural resources. The commitment was reiterated during a meeting between Botswana’s Minister of Environment and Tourism, Honourable Wynter Boipuso Mmolotsi, and the Ambassador of Angola to Botswana, His Excellency Sandro de Oliveira, in Gaborone. The discussions focused on practical ways the neighbouring countries can work together to address shared environmental and economic priorities. Wildlife conservation, tourism development, transfrontier wildlife management and protection of the Okavango Basin featured prominently during the engagement. The meeting highlighted how cooperation across national borders can help both countries protect natural resources while creating opportunities for economic development.
