Botswana’s Minister of Sport and Arts, Hon. Jacob Kelebeng, met with Serbia’s Minister of Sport, Hon. Zoran Gajić, in Belgrade, Serbia, for a strategic bilateral engagement focused on strengthening cooperation in sport development. The meeting brought together two governments that are aiming to expand their collaboration in areas that directly support athlete growth and institutional development. Both ministers highlighted the role of sport as a tool for youth empowerment and national development. The discussions reflected a shared interest in building structured partnerships that can deliver long term impact. The engagement also positioned sport as a bridge for international cooperation between Africa and Europe. The Botswana delegation included the Botswana National Sport Commission Chief Executive Officer, Ministry officials and senior management from the Commission. Their presence reflected a coordinated national approach to international sport engagement. The delegation is currently in Belgrade at the invitation of the Serbia Ministry of Sport. The visit is fully sponsored by the Government of Serbia, reflecting strong diplomatic and institutional support for the engagement.
