The Acting Minister of Health, Honourable Lawrence Ookeditse, hosted a delegation from the Republic of Cyprus led by the High Commissioner to Botswana, Mr Andonis Mandritis. The visit highlights ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation and explore business and investment opportunities between the two countries.
The delegation is in Botswana for a series of meetings with government agencies and business institutions to identify potential areas for collaboration. One of the key focuses of the visit is the health sector, following Cyprus’s recent donation of medicines to Botswana. The engagement aims to build on this support and explore broader opportunities in healthcare development, including medical supplies, infrastructure, and knowledge exchange.
During the meeting, Honourable Ookeditse emphasized the importance of strategic partnerships in improving healthcare delivery. He highlighted Botswana’s commitment to advancing health services through investment, innovation, and international cooperation.
High Commissioner Mandritis expressed Cyprus’s interest in deepening relations with Botswana, particularly in sectors where mutual benefit and sustainable development can be achieved.
